Autism Intervention Program
The Autism Intervention Program is an intensive behaviour intervention program for children with autism and is offered in partnership with Pathways for Children and Youth, South East Regional Autism Program. The program offers: assessments, referrals to other agencies, Individual Service Plans, Case Management, Intensive Behaviour Intervention, planning for transitions to child care centres and/or school and linkages with other agencies.
The program provides teaching in social, play, thinking, language and self-help skills for children with autism. The program uses applied behavioural analysis and verbal behaviour techniques.
Depending on the child's service plan, the therapist will typically work with a child for 15 to 25 hours per week
Services are offered in Hastings and Prince Edward counties.
The program is funded by the Ministry of Community and Social Services and the Ministry of Children and Youth Services.
