Behavioural Consulting Services
Behavioural Consulting Services is a community support program for individuals over the age of two years who have a diagnosed developmental disability. Pre-school aged children who are at risk of developmental delay may be eligible for service. Such referrals are considered on a case by case basis.
The Behavioural Consultant works with those who provide care to an individual who has a developmental disability to develop strategies that encourage skill acquisition or behaviour change. All strategies are designed to build upon existing strengths and promote full participation in family and community life.
Behavioural Consulting Services offers consultation and training to community service providers and agencies regarding the development of behavioural support strategies.
Referrals are accepted from parents, agencies, physicians, schools, etc. with the consent of the individual/family being referred.
Services are offered in the counties of Hastings, Prince Edward and Lennox and Addington.
The Behavioural Consulting Services Program is funded by the Ministry of Community and Social Services and the Ministry of Children & Youth Services.
